Film Festival – My Architect

This event is part of PS21’s FILM FESTIVAL – CONSTRUCT IT! Films about buildings & those who design them.

Friday, August 5 – 8:30 pm

Director Nathaniel Kahn searches to understand his father, renowned architect Louis Kahn (Exeter Library, Salk Institute, Bangladeshi Capitol Building), who died bankrupt and alone in 1974. Nathaniel travels the world visiting his father's buildings and meeting his father’s colleagues (including Frank O. Gehry), students, wives, and children. What emerges is a portrait of a brilliant but undependable man whose creations, which are featured prominently in the film, still astound. The film was nominated for an Academy Award and won the Director’s Guild award for an Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Documentary.

“Brilliant! A wonder of a movie.” – NY Times
