Jamal Jackson and Frank Malloy teach traditional dance and drumming from Mali. Students present a public performance on the PS21 stage as part of the Just for Fun series. Students make their lunches in a cooking class, which they share with their teachers. Perfect Ten and PS21 started this program in 2013. This year Perfect Ten will host the first four days of the workshop in Hudson in the Hudson Library’s community room. Jackson is talented at unifying and inspiring a diverse group of children and teens. “ I learned that in order for your dancing to look good you have to put a lot of energy into it”, stated a student participant, another stated “Working with this stuff is very very fun!”. Over half of the participants are from low to moderate-income families.
