PS21 Chatham is located in northern Columbia County which is known for its agricultural and cultural bounty. The charming village of Chatham, only a mile south of PS21, is a relaxing place to spend the afternoon and have dinner before heading to PS21 for a performance. The village has bookstores, art galleries, restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, natural food stores, a Microbrewery, a Pub, wine shops, a gourmet cheese shop, a fine jewelers, and a single-screen 1920s still active movie theater! Within 15 minutes there are many more activities available at Art Omi, Shaker Museum and Library, the Hudson Winery, the Land Conservancy’s Nature Preserves, Ghent Playhouse, MacHaydn Theater, Spencertown Academy Arts Center, and more. And if you care to go just a little further afield you can find all kinds of riches in Hudson, Kinderhook, Philmont, New Lebanon, the Berkshires, and all the rural nooks and crannies in between.
