A Final Bow for a Paul Taylor Dancer
It is always a joy to welcome the Paul Taylor Dance Company to the PS21 Pavilion Stage — a tradition now four years and running. This year, the week kicked off with a Wednesday night screening of Creative Domain, the 2014 film about the company in Taylor’s final years, and a panel Q+A after the screening. Then, over two sold out weekend nights, the company performed Brandenburgs, Runes, and Promethean Fire, wowing crows with their elegance, strength, and precision. Saturday night was particularly memorable, as the evening marked the final dance and retirement of the longest-tenured dancer in the company, Eran Bugge, after 19 years. Many flowers ensued!
