PATHWAYS Spirituality, Movement and Music Workshop
PS21 partnered with The Spark of Hudson to create an hourlong workshop of spirituality, movement and music with the Hudson community. Singer and songwriter Ngonda Badila aka Lady Moon guided Hudson youth in a one hour workshop that kicked off with an introduction to the Bantu-Kongo cosmology. Young students were able to connect many of the ideas to familiar themes in religion, science and literature. We finished the workshop by getting our bodies moving with a few African Dance moves, with Ndgona’s siblings joining in for the choreography and percussion. The workshop preceded Lady Moon’s performance at PS21 that evening, with many Hudson community members in attendance.
