For our second installment of the GLOBAL | LOCAL Music Series, PS21 welcomed Korean composer and gayageum virtuoso Seo Jungmin and her touring team including vocalist Kim Yulhee and percussionist You Byungwook. Kingston’s Alexander Turnquist opened the evening. It was a wonderful night of original contemporary music — Jungmin’s modern approach to the traditional 25-string gayageum was astounding, and Turnquist’s soundscapes from his 12-string guitar set the tone for the evening beautifully.
