SMASHED2
On July 12 and 13, the legendary Gandini Juggling troupe from the UK, led by Sean Gandini, brought their new work SMASHED2 to PS21. Over 550 attendees witnessed this hilarious, irreverent, razor-sharp work: a mix of traditional juggling, Pina Bausch-inspired dance, telling a story of gender relations and revenge through… fruit! By the end of each performance, 7 watermelons and 80 oranges had been juggled and smashed on the stage. Laughter abounded, and on Saturday night, over 100 people stuck around for a Q&A after the performance at the PS21 cafe.
