PS21’s 2026 summer season was a record-breaking ride. It shimmered with invention and vitality, bringing together artists who continue to redefine the possibilities of live performance.
The season was a celebration of risk, collaboration, and new work. Residencies by visionary composers, dancers, and theatre-makers transformed PS21’s campus into a living laboratory where live art met landscape and community.

PRESENTING AMBITIOUS PERFORMANCES…AT AN AMBITIOUS PACE
42 performances of 25 adventurous productions, both all-time PS21 highs. From May to September—something was always on.

11 world premieres. 7 shows developed and built on our site, premiering here before heading off to Lincoln Center, Edinburgh International Festival, Mass MOCA, Under the Radar Festival, and beyond…
GROWING OUR AUDIENCES
8,095 tickets sold across the season. That’s 32% more than last year, another record breaking year. Plus, we smashed the record for tickets sold to a single performance three times.
26% of all audience members came to PS21 for the first time–more than 2,100 new faces.

100-acre campus open to the public every day, free of charge
8 productions presented offsite or in surprising locations around our grounds–art embedded in nature, and brought straight to you.
MAKING IT FOR EVERYONE
17 pay-what-you-wish performances, and $12.50 no-questions-asked tickets available for every paid show. We introduced our ambitious new tiered ticketing system this year, bringing more affordable access to internationally acclaimed artists and shows to our community than ever before.
