I’ll never forget how to know is Liv Butowsky’s newest work featuring movers Erin Dooley, Sayer Mansfield, Maddie Leonard-Rose, and Lydia Soueidan. Primal, girlish, and reverent, the movers remember and remind as a violin world built by Connor Armbruster mingles with the dance barn hillside soundscape. I’ll never forget how to know was incubated at PS21 through the NYS Choreographers Initiative, a funding opportunity administered by NYS DanceForce and NYS Council for the Arts, with mentorship from Hadar Ahuvia.

LIV BUTOWSKY is a Troy-based multi-medium artist exploring performance that invites and enlivens. She has presented work at The Tank NYC and O+ Festival, worked on film and theatrical productions at the Experimental Media & Performing Arts Center, and is a collaborator on Dirt Picture Studio’s forthcoming documentary With The Meltwaters, So Too We Go. Her movement education has been seeded by former New York City Ballet dancers, Chicago Joffrey Academy, School of American Ballet, L’Ecole Supérieure de Danse de Cannes, Skidmore College, and the northeast’s contact improvisation ecosystem. Liv has written poems for The Mount, Button Poetry, CapCity Slam, and various zines, and has performed across the country with the National Poetry Slam. Liv is an adjunct faculty member in the Skidmore Documentary Studies Department, and a member of the Ellen Sinopoli Dance Company.
ARMBRUSTER is the signature of Connor Armbruster, a composer and multi-instrumentalist from Troy, NY. His output spans multimedia solo performances, theatre, dance and traditional music, and session work. His flagship experimental albums, Masses and Can I Sit Here were released by Dear Life Records to widespread acclaim.
