PS21’s facility, completed in 2018, is a 300-seat open-air proscenium stage protected by a pavilion roof, which can convert into a geothermally heated and air-conditioned black box theater seating 100. The new facility is built with technologically advanced systems that can accommodate all levels of artistic needs–from the analog use of our extensive system of sprung dance floors so critical for the safety of movement-based performance, to our state-of-the-art lighting and sound capacities. The theater features one of the only fully LED green theatrical lighting systems in the country.

Live and work at PS21. The PS21 “White House” artist housing is a 12 bed, 19th century home on the PS21 grounds with its rustic and cozy atmosphere charmingly preserved. The perfect respite for artists at work, the house is outfitted with all modern amenities, and is a short five minute walk to the main pavilion and black box theaters through the natural unspoiled landscape. The White House artist housing is not available to rent on its own, but is available to be used in conjunction with a venue or grounds rental.

PS21 sits on a 19th century apple orchard at the apex of 100 acres of beautiful Hudson Valley land at the foothills of the Berkshires. The meadows and woodlands that surround PS21’s facilities are available to be explored. PS21 is just one mile from the charming town of Chatham, and 20 minutes from the scenic and vibrant city of Hudson.
