PS21 is located in Columbia County, in the upper Hudson Valley, famous for its agricultural and cultural bounty. The charming village of Chatham, a mile south of PS21, is a relaxing place to spend the afternoon and have dinner before heading to PS21 for a performance. The village boasts bookstores, art galleries, restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, natural food stores, a microbrewery, a pub, wine shops, a gourmet cheese shop, a fine jeweler, and the Crandell Theatre, a single-screen Spanish Renaissance gem built in 1926. Nearby attractions include Art Omi in neighboring Ghent, the scenic town of Hudson, wineries, pick-your-own vegetable and fruit farms, nature sanctuaries, and historic river ports. Chatham is also just ~30 minutes from Albany, Troy, Catskill, Great Barrington, and Stockbridge, making it a central location for all sorts of fun.
